Juvéderm Voluma® XC

Juvéderm Voluma® XC is an FDA-approved dermal filler formulated specifically to add volume to the face around the cheeks and chin. This filler is the only injectable gel created to provide a subtle natural enhancement to the mid-face, addressing changes in definition that occur over time. Juvéderm Voluma® can help restore more youthful contours by plumping up the area that often loses volume as part of the aging process. It can also return a firmer shape to the jaw line when softening has set in.

Juvéderm Voluma® XC is not only an effective treatment method, but it is long lasting as well. In many patients, the results will last for a period of up to 2 years. The active ingredient in Juvéderm Voluma® XC is hyaluronic acid (HA), which is a substance naturally produced within the skin. As we get older, the levels of HA present in the skin begin to decline resulting in a loss of volume and sunken or sagging cheeks. Juvéderm Voluma® integrates into existing collagen and elastin in the skin tissue offering greater support and elasticity. This treatment can provide a noticeable smoothing and firming to the skin resulting in more substantial definition in the facial structure.

Blepharoplasty

Blepharoplasty, often referred to as eyelid surgery, is the ideal solution for those wanting to improve the overall appearance of skin around the eyes. As skin ages and stretches, excess skin and fat can collect above and under the eyes. This causes noticeable sagging skin and fat deposits. Our team will start with a consultation to discuss overall goals and expectations. During the procedure, our team will create incisions on the creases of the eyelids to remove skin sagging and excess fat deposits. This procedure can last five to seven years and gives the face a rejuvenated and youthful appearance.

Face and Neck Lifts create a youthful appearance for patients by reducing skin sagging. As skin ages, it loses elasticity and can store unwanted fat deposits. Patients will receive local anesthesia before the surgery. Our team repositions the skin and facial fat during a face and neck lift procedure to remove unwanted drooping. Incisions are hidden at the hairline to avoid unwanted scarring following the surgery. Patients will experience moderate pain and swelling following a face and neck lift. Many people experience two to four weeks of downtime following the surgery. However, patients will notice smoother skin and a rejuvenated appearance after the procedure.

Breast augmentations, often referred to as augmentation mammoplasty, are a form of cosmetic surgery designed to alter the size of breasts. This procedure restores or adds volume for those looking for a fuller and more rounded breast shape. Breast augmentations can improve the overall aesthetic balance of one’s body and increase self-confidence. Our team starts with a consultation to discuss ideal breast size and primary expectations. Before the procedure, patients undergo general anesthesia. Your cosmetic surgeon will create an incision to separate the breast tissue from the massive and connective tissues. They will then insert the implant and close the incision with stitches. Patients should expect a few weeks of downtime following the procedure – many people experience minimal swelling, soreness and bruising. Patients should expect scars to fade over time. Breast augmentation results will last about ten years.

Mastopexy, commonly referred to as a breast lift, is the ideal solution for those looking to improve the appearance of sagging breasts. The rejuvenating procedure can bring a youthful appearance to those who have noticed a decrease in skin elasticity. Breast tissue can begin to sag for a variety of reasons, some of the most common being:

  • Breastfeeding
  • Weight changes
  • Aging

Our team will start with a consultation to discuss concerns and expectations. Patients undergo general anesthesia before the procedure. Your cosmetic surgeon will reshape the breasts by removing excess tissue and realigning the skin. Downtime will vary between patients. Drainage tubes remove unwanted fluids following the procedure. After one to two weeks, our team will remove the stitches. Patients should expect scars to fade over time.

Patients undergo breast augmentation revision procedures to replace older breast implants. Our team’s goal is to improve the overall appearance of the breasts while replacing implant material. breast augmentation revisions can also relieve pain as a result of capsular contracture. Before the procedure, patients will discuss their overall goals with our team. We will decide on a course of action appropriate to your expectations. Patients undergo general anesthesia for the surgery. Your cosmetic surgeon will create an incision to remove the old breast implant and replace it with a new one. Downtime will vary between patients. Following the procedure, patients will wear bandages and lightly supported bras. Our team recommends maintaining breast implants with a revision surgery every ten years.

Liposuction is an ideal procedure for any patient who wants to slim and reshape pinpointed areas of their body. While liposuction is used in a variety of areas, common treatments include:

  • Abdomen
  • Arms
  • Buttocks
  • Thighs

Before the procedure, patients will discuss their problem areas. Our team will collaborate with you to create a treatment plan that addresses your concerns. Patients undergo general anesthesia for the surgery. Our team will make a small incision and use a liposuction machine to remove unwanted fat from predetermined areas. Drainage tubes remove unwanted fluids following the procedure. Downtime will vary between patient and treatment area. Patients need to wear a compression garment following the surgery.

Abdominoplasty, commonly referred to as a tummy tuck, is the ideal solution for those wanting to remove unwanted fat and sagging skin around the abdominal area. The connective tissue within the abdomen is tightened to create a lasting, smoother appearance. As the skin ages, our stomach can begin to stretch and store unwanted fat deposits. Weight fluctuations and pregnancy escalate this cycle. People who have not found success with diet and exercise can remove unwanted fat depots with an abdominoplasty. Patients receive general anesthesia for the surgery. Your cosmetic surgeon will create an incision between your hip bones across your abdomen. Our team will then work to repair weakened abdominal muscles. We will pull the upper abdominal skin down and remove excess skin to close the incision, leaving patients with a flatter and smoother appearance. Drainage tubes remove unwanted fluids following the procedure. Patients should expect two to three weeks of downtime following an abdominoplasty. Normal to moderate pain is normal. Our team will meet with you for follow-up appointments to assess when you can resume regular physical activity. While a tummy tuck will not stop you from gaining weight, the results are permanent.

Mini Abdominoplasty is an excellent solution for those who want the benefits of a tummy tuck but only have minimal stomach fat. This procedure allows patients to remove smaller amounts of excess skin and fat without major incisions or reconstruction. Before the procedure, patients will discuss their overall goals with our team. We will decide on an appropriate course of action to achieve your goals. Patients receive general anesthesia during the surgery. This procedure requires a small incision to repair weakened abdominal muscles and remove unwanted fat. Recovery time will vary for patients, but many will experience two weeks of downtime and, must wear compression garments for six weeks post-operation. Our team will meet with you for follow-up appointments to assess when you can resume regular physical activity. While a mini abdominoplasty will not stop you from gaining weight, the results are permanent.

A Brachioplasty procedure, commonly referred to as an arm lift, treats the upper arms to reduce the appearance of “bat wings.” This cosmetic procedure is an excellent solution for those wanting to remove excess fat and skin that hangs down on the upper portion of the arm. Before the procedure, our team will conduct a consultation to discuss your overall goals and expectations. Patients undergo general anesthesia for the surgery. Your cosmetic surgeon will create an incision on the arms to remove excess skin. The length and position of the incision will vary by patient and expectation. Following the procedure, our team will close the incision with stitches and cover it with bandages. Recovery will vary for every patient, but most experience downtime between one and two weeks. Post operation, some swelling, and bruising are expected. However, patients will notice a smoother and tighter appearance on their upper arms.

Thigh lifts are an excellent solution for those wanting to remove unwanted fat and excess skin from the inner thighs. Before the procedure, our team will conduct a consultation to assess your goals and expectations for the surgery. Patients will go under general anesthesia as incisions are created along the inner thigh. Incision size and placement will vary between patients. Your cosmetic surgeon will stretch and remove the skin to make the appearance of smoother and tighter thighs. Recovery will vary for every patient, but most experience a few weeks of downtime. Drainage tubes may also be used to remove unwanted fluid and blood at the surgery site. Post operation, some swelling, and bruising are expected.

InMode Forma

Overview
Do you have loose, undefined skin or wrinkles becoming more and more apparent on your skin? Do you want younger, healthier-looking skin without partaking in an invasive and painful treatment? Your skin is an essential part of your appearance, and as you grow older, it can naturally deteriorate. Luckily, we have the technology to reverse the effects of time with the InMode Forma treatment that is painless and requires no recovery time.

How it Works
The InMode Forma is a skin and tissue remodeling technology designed to help the skin look and feel younger by stimulating just below the surface. The laser is equipped with a subdermal heating applicator that uses radiofrequency, traveling via electrodes, to deliver a non-invasive treatment.

Conditions Treated
An InMode Forma treatment is for individuals looking to achieve younger, brighter skin. InMode Forma can be used for skin remodeling and to improve skin texture to create a natural, more youthful appearance. The treatment is primarily used on the forehead, nasolabial folds, neck, jowls, as well as upper and lower eyelids.

What to Expect
Depending on your skin condition, your provider will determine an InMode Forma treatment plan, including how many sessions and at what frequency you will need to achieve optimal results. InMode Forma is safe on all skin types. When receiving this treatment, it is painless and requires zero downtime. However, patients may experience some redness in the face after the procedure, which will subside within a few hours.

For more information on the InMode Forma and whether it is the right treatment for you, we encourage you to schedule an appointment with our experienced providers at Waccamaw Plastic Surgery. Our providers will evaluate your skin and current health conditions to devise a plan of action to help you achieve brighter, more defined, and younger-looking skin.

Overview
As we age, it is natural that our appearance declines due to internal bodily changes and external factors that negatively affect our skin. However, just because we face the test of time, it doesn’t mean that we have to accept wrinkles, sagging skin, or fine lines. The InMode Fractora Treatment is a rejuvenation and resurfacing treatment designed to improve the skin’s appearance and achieve a more youthful, healthy look.

How it Works
InMode Fractora treatment is the bridge between InMode Laser Forma and surgical procedures. The InMode Fractora delivers radiofrequency energy to the targeted skin through an organized plate of pins that produce heat and tiny micro-lesion dots. The heat produced by the pins promotes collagen restructuring in the sub-dermal tissue of the skin. The benefit of using the pins plates is that most of the repair is completed under the skin with little damage to the surface, allowing patients to heal faster.

Conditions Treated
The InMode Fractora treatment is recommended to patients looking to smooth the surface of their skin and improve their complexion’s overall appearance. Patients commonly choose an InMode Fractora treatment to improve fine lines, wrinkles, discoloration, and acne scars on the forehead, cheeks, and mouth. It is also used as a non-surgical alternative for skin tightening to the neck, face, and eyes.

What to Expect
Depending on the patient’s skin and overall health, providers will likely recommend between one to six sessions. The InMode Fractora requires numbing and has a one to three days downtime where the patient can expect to see microlesions and redness. The initial results are visible immediately, with the most noticeable results within six to eight weeks after the completion of the treatment. Continued improvement can be expected for three to six months after treatment.
For more information on the InMode Fractora and whether it is the correct treatment for you, we recommend that you schedule an appointment with our highly trained providers at Waccamaw Plastic Surgery. Our providers will evaluate your skin and current health conditions to develop a treatment plan to help you achieve brighter, more defined, and younger-looking skin.

Overview
Are you sick of shaving, plucking, waxing, bleaching, using topical creams, and worrying about unsightly hair? The InMode Laser Diolaze treatment is a hair removal solution that can replace traditional hair removal methods. This advanced method of laser hair removal safely removes unwanted hair quickly, efficiently, and is virtually painless.

How it Works
InMode Laser Diolaze Treatments use a diode laser beam that passes through the skin to reach the hair follicles. The penetrating energy heats the root of the hair, which prevents future hair from growing. The process is virtually painless as the laser has a built-in cooling system to counteract the laser’s heat.

Conditions Treated
The InMode Laser Diolaze treatment is used for laser hair removal. Patients can use this treatment to target stubborn hair and decrease the time of their personal care routine. The treatment is able to target the underarms, back, lip, face, neck, legs, arms, stomach, and bikini area.

What to Expect

Methods for treatment depend significantly on the patient’s unique characteristics, such as hair color, hair type, skin tone, and body area desired for treatment. Our providers will evaluate the patient to determine the best InMode Laser Diolaze plan for their specific needs. Patients can expect to need a series of treatments as laser hair removal works best when hair follicles are mature. Due to one’s hair being in various stages of growth, it takes several treatments to get it all.

For more information on whether you are a candidate for InMode Laser Diolaze, please make an appointment with Waccamaw Plastic Surgery. Our providers will determine your skin type and current skin condition. If you are eligible for InMode Laser Diolaze treatment, your provider will work with you to create a session schedule that works for you and helps you achieve your desired appearance.

Overview
Psoriasis is a chronic skin condition resulting from a build-up of skin cells, often producing a scaly appearance on the elbows, knees, hands, back, legs, feet, scalp, neck, and face. Those seeking relief from their psoriasis may have heard of the XTRAC Laser. The XTRAC Laser is an FDA approved treatment that can slow and reverse psoriatic cells’ growth so that patients may achieve clearer and more beautiful skin.

How it Works
The XTRAC Laser is a form of light therapy, also known as phototherapy. The laser focuses a single band of ultraviolet light on psoriasis lesions using a 308-nanometer wavelength. It only takes a few minutes to perform, and the surrounding skin isn’t affected because the laser is focused solely on the troubled spot. The XTRAC Laser is considered to work faster and more efficiently than other light therapy treatments and can target harder-to-reach areas like your elbows or scalp.

Conditions Treated
The XTRAC Laser is used as a treatment option for those suffering from psoriasis. By penetrating the skin, the XTRAC Laser breaks the DNA of one’s T cell. Your T cells are the ones that, when suffering from psoriasis, are working overtime and leaving you with extra skin cells that don’t fall off.

What to Expect

According to their specific needs, patients receiving XTRAC Laser treatment for psoriasis can expect 2 to 3 sessions a week. Patients will often begin to notice improvement within 3 to 4 treatments, with significant improvement within 6 to 10 treatments and possible clearance within 10 to 20 treatments. Of course, results vary depending on the individual.

Before choosing an XTRAC Laser treatment for psoriasis, you will want to speak with your provider about risk factors and side effects. Our providers at Waccamaw Plastic Surgery can aid you in choosing the best solution for your specific needs.
